Breaking up is a big thing. Thinking about the consequences after the break up can be a little bit predictable. However, trying to figure out the “how to do” is quite challenging. Initiating such decision is one of the hardest things you might do. You need to consider many factors from reactions up to possible trauma of your significant half. But, at the end, a break up is necessary especially when things become unhealthy and unhappy within the relationship. Below are few common break-up one-liners you should know:
10. “I’ll always love you”
There are times that one partner does not love the other one anymore that he or she fails to see a bright future of their relationship. Sometimes this leads couples parting ways and little chances to get in touched.
9. “I love you, but I’m not in love with you”
For some couples, the longer the relationship is, the less enthusiastic they become with the relationship. This is where they feel a relationship is already a bit boring and begins questioning the passion within the bond. Couples who use this generally still care but no longer passionately love each other anymore.
8. “You’re far too good for me”
Sometimes this line does not make sense. It is similarly saying that love is there but due to certain unequal statuses you cannot be together. Ending a relationship because of unbalanced situations, such as one is better than the other is quite unfair.
7. “I’ll call you”
This may lead to unreturned calls. He or she might not probably call you again. This is usually used when individuals prefer not to answer or not to go on to the next date. Expect less because it is still 50:50 that you will get a call or not.
6. “I need a little space”
This is usually a common escape plan for some people who no longer want to be with you. Most of the time the one dumping the person gets enough time to think of ways not to reconnect with the other or whatever his or her plans are.
5. “There’s too much going on in my life right now”
Some people tend to be inconsistent. While dating, they may give you the entire world and time just enough to convince you for a relationship. But, there are some that along the way of knowing you more would decide to take back all those extra time intended for you whether to use that for their career, family, or whatever reasons they have.
4. “I think we need a break”
By far, this is very, very common. Having that necessary “break” usually gives the “dumper” a huge excuse to have all the playing moment in the ground. However, at the same time you still have a hope that if all else fails, the “dumpee” will be right there waiting for the comeback.
3. “I don’t want a girlfriend or boyfriend”
This one is classic but a worst one. This line gives you mixed signals that currently, the supposed partner is not yet ready for commitment but along the way might give you false hopes of wanting to have a future with you.
2. “I’ll be travelling”
This is quite a defective excuse. If you are serious with each other, you should think of travelling together and enjoying each other’s company.
1. “It’s not you, it’s me”
Among all the clichés, this is the MOST UNIVERSAL. This is actually pointing out to your fault but the dumper is afraid to tell this outright since it might hurt you.
