As much as humans want to live longer, it is a sad fact that some of us suffer life threatening diseases. Some experiences the wrath of sickness and illness thus shortening their lives. This can be due to lifestyle and hereditary factors. Now, the World Health Organization has updated their list of top 10 deadly diseases in the world according to income and let me show you the diseases suffered mostly by middle and higher class society.
1. Ischaemic Heart Disease
This is the deadliest as it shows back in 2011 when there were about 120 cases of deaths reported due to this disease out of every 100,000 population. This is the common cause of heart attack as it slowly builds up plaque in a persons heart walls and eventually decreases blood flow in the heart.
Ranging from 93-123 deaths per 100,000 populations, stroke is the 2nd deadliest disease known to middle and upper society. Less supply of blood to the brain causes low supply of oxygen as well which leads to stroke.
3. Lung Cancer
Uncontrollable growth of cells in the lung tissues is said to be lung cancer that could later on metastasize into other parts of human body. This disease kills about 28-51 people out of 100,000 population.
COPD stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease which is considered to be a lung problem where one experiences poor oxygen flow that may lead to ones lungs to breakdown.
5. Lower Respiratory Infections
This disease is said to be broad in the sense that it can be considered as similar to pneumonia or bronchitis and a lot more with same symptoms such as fever, the shortness of breath, coughing, and body weakness. This disease causes about 32-45 deaths making it part of the top 10 list.
6. Diabetes Mellitus
This may be associated with people who have issues with their pancreas resulting to high sugar level in the blood. Diabetes can be controllable if only people know more about it and have the discipline however because of sedentary lifestyle; this disease although controllable is deadly.
7. Colon Cancer
Just like lung cancer, uncontrolled growth of cells is found in the rectum or colon area. The number of people dying from such disease is 18-27 out of 100,000.
8. Liver Cancer
Liver cancer can be caused by different factors and mostly because of alcoholism. Drinking too much liquor could damage the liver resulting to such disease.
9. Hypertensive Heart Disease
This disease is also manageable if only people are disciplined enough to monitor what they eat and their blood pressure levels. This disease causes about 18-20 deaths in a hundred thousand population.
10. Breast Cancer
Mostly affected are women, this disease is quite popular. Although some may have beaten this disease, there are those who were very unfortunate to die at such a young age because of breast cancer. Out of hundred thousand people, 16 deaths were recorded caused by breast cancer.
