Top 10 French Foods

French culinary world has been a major investor for the growth of the world of food. They have finessed how we see, cook and eat food. It is no wonder why people would prefer to go there, especially chefs and foodies just to experience the heavenly goodness of French delicacies.

10. Crepes

A crepe is essentially a pancake that went on a diet. This thin piece of heaven is perfect with anything, either sweet or savory. Countries have adopted this treat and made their own rendition. But, unfortunately, the French way of making them is the best one, making them addictive to anyone who gets to eat it

9. Baguettes

Nothing can beat the sensation you feel when you are able to see, touch, hear and smell a freshly made batch of baguette. The taste of the freshly baked bread is a whole new level and calling it as simple as normal bread should be punishable by crime.

8. Café au Lait

Traditionally served in a bowl name after the concoction, the café au lait if made in France cannot be compared to other coffee drinks. With every sip, your body feels that type of warmth you could only get when you are in love.

7. Escargot

In some cultures, eating escargot, which is snails, can be treated as truly off putting. But France, throughout the years, has such an affinity with it that it converts critics to patrons. The best way to get your first taste is to eat them prepared with garlic and butter.

6. Fromage

With hundred varieties of it, the fromage, French for cheese, is a unique item in its own. France has produced cheeses that could either put someone in a trance or dare them with bold flavors. Either way, French cheese is a sumptuous treat, especially with French wine.

5. Bouillabaisse

The whole world has its own rendition of this rich fish stew. This is usually served boiling accompanied with ingredients that can be dipped or soaked in the stew. The fish is served separate to avoid overcooking it.

4. Gaufres

If you decided to go out and explore France at night, then Gaufres will be the best company for you. Similar to Belgian waffles, the streetwise treat is paired with numerous combinations of chocolate, fruits etc. It’s perfect to sweeten up a chilly night.

I'm a living paradox. An old soul trapped in a modern world. I'm a mother, a good sister and a writer in that order.
