We are surrounded by mosquito, some thinks these are harmful yet irritating insects but the truth is, these creatures could be your ticket to death. Let me show you some mosquito borne diseases that could be deadly.
A bite from an infected mosquito carrying this parasitic microorganism can eventually lead to death or if not then coma. Believe it or not, such disease has no known vaccine that could help eradicate this kind of disease.
Dengue is accompanied by high grade fever caused by dengue virus. This disease is mostly found in tropical countries and could be very deadly in its latter stage. Although there’s no vaccine for such disease, infected person can simply combat the disease with fluid intake and blood transfusion in its early stage.
3. Eastern Equine Encephalitis
Another mosquito borne disease that can lead to death is the Eastern Equine Encephalitis or Triple E. Mostly found in South Africa and Caribbean, victims of this disease could suffer complications in central nervous system.
4. West Nile Virus
Just like other mosquito borne diseases, the West Nile Virus doesn’t have any cure or specific treatment. All we can do is do some preventive measures to avoid further complications and infections. This disease is commonly found in tropical areas and victims usually suffer from headache symptom.
5. Japanese Encephalitis
It is known that the common or basic reservoir of this virus is pigs and herons. This disease is caused by Flaviviridae virus and victims usually experiences rigors that are severe, headache, body weakness, fever, rigidity or stiffness of the neck and a lot more. Again, this disease doesn’t have specific treatment but rather requires supportive treatment.
The mostly affected victims are children and could sometimes be really fatal to health. Just like other diseases, this one needs supportive treatment of fluids but no known specific medication to cure it. Symptoms noted are usually nausea, rashes, joint pains, fever and a lot more.
7. Murray Valley Encephalitis
Mosquito’s can be very harmful and this is proven by the fact that once bitten by those carrying deadly viruses just like in the case of Murray Valley Encephalitis disease, victims brain tissues will swell. This disease is mostly found in Australia.
8. LaCrosse Encephalitis
The first reported case of this disease was way back in 1963. This one is not a common disease and only affects children aged 16 years and below. Sadly, this too doesn’t have any specific medications.
9. Yellow Fever
Luckily, such disease does have an existing vaccine. Victims are those living in tropical areas of only America and Africa. Good thing it doesn’t cover Asia yet it kills a lot of victims every year reaching up to 30,000 deaths.
10. St. Louis Encephalitis
The carriers if this SLE or St. Louis Encephalitis virus are birds and infected mosquitoes that come in contact with humans will most likely cause a threatening illness. This disease mostly affects young individuals and those elderly.
