The hustle and bustle of our everyday life can sometimes be overwhelming. It’s troubling enough to finish one day with everything in your hands and your mind. Keeping yourself calm and relaxed in times like this could be far from reality, but there are ways on how to keep you calm in times of being under pressured.
10. Take Deep Breathes
If you think you are already stressed and yet it’s just before noon and you still have tons of errands on your list, take deep breathes. Let go of everything that you’re doing for a minute and take ten deep breathes. This will help you clear your mind, too.
9. Take Five
You’ve been working for hours and can’t think straight any longer. Take a break for at least a few minutes. Stand up from your work table and stretch up a little or walk around the office.
8. Talk it out
Grab your phone and talk to someone. This may help you clear your mind a bit. Give your spouse a call, ask how his/her day was so far or you may beep your mom and ask how she’s doing or maybe call your best friend and have a little chitchat. Talking to someone close to you in times of pressure can make things better.
7. Be Optimistic
Once you know what your task is, set your mind that you can do this no matter what happens. A strong mind set can go far rather than being a pessimist and turning your own self down.
6. Don’t Play the Blame Game
People tend to find an escape goat by looking for someone who can take the blame for them. This won’t do any good and will keep you from being productive. Get yourself back on track by gaining your self-esteem.
5. No Procrastination
You will not solve anything by just sitting and doing nothing. Start taking action once you have seen the source of the problem. The longer you procrastinate the longer the problem will stay with you.
4. Avoid Foul Language
Some say swearing is one way on how to release your stress, but the truth is it just makes you think unreasonably and act aggressively. Plus, the people around you are dying to cover your ears once they start hearing you cursing. Be a good example by keeping a good aura despite the problem you are encountering.
3. Keep a handy Stress ball
When you are stressed, muscles are tensed making you have a difficult time to think. Having a stress ball on hand can be helpful more than you can ever think of. You can notice your muscles ease up after a couple of squeezes.
2. candles and incense
Light up some candles and incense with the scent of lavender and chamomile will make you feel more relaxed and calm.
It is good to have some distraction. Try to laugh out the problems or even laugh at yourself. Watch a funny movie or think of something funny. Find ways or things to make you laugh. It helps you be calm and at ease.
